RTV 001  Introduction to Broadcasting          Professor Story

This course is designed to examine the nature and development of radio, television and the Internet with special emphasis on the persuasive powers of broadcast media in shaping American culture. The processes of broadcast communication`s role in society are investigated along with the impact of the media on economic issues. (CSU)

This course is designed to examine the theory and practice of audio techniques in radio, television, film, and multimedia, including acoustics, audio language and terms, signal flow, use of microphones, use of mixers and related production equipment, and the aesthetic aspects of sound mixing. Students will apply the learned materials to actual audio production. (CSU)

The RTV Sports Broadcasting Group is responsible for broadcasting a wide variety of Delta College Sports events and producing a half-hour sports talk show that appears on SJTV Channel 26 (Comcast).  The RTV Sports Broadcasting Group is lead by professional sports broadcaster - Rod Villagomez (Valley Sports Broadcasting).




RTV 012  Techniques of Audio Production  Professor Story

This course is designed to emphasize the use of digital audio workstations for audio, radio, and multimedia production and synchronization with the visual image. The course provides the opportunity for specialized training in the use of audio postproduction techniques and the skills necessary to compete in the entertainment, communications, and multimedia industries. Students are introduced to techniques and equipment currently used in digital audio postproduction. (CSU)

The RTV Radio Station Group is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Delta College Radio Station.  The Delta College radio station can be heard on the Internet and on FM 89.5 (on campus - only).  The RTV Radio Station Group is lead by professional radio broadcaster - Rod Villagomez (KWIN-FM). 



RTV Multimedia Group (Lab Opportunity)           Story/Brogger/Villagomes

The RTV Audio Performance Group is responsible for organizing and presenting audio based (stage music concerts) performances.  The Group will present one to two concerts, per semester.  The Audio Performance Group will work in concert with the Delta College radio station group to stage these concert events.

This course is designed to provide intermediate television production skills intended for the student seeking employment in the television, editing, video production, and multimedia industries. Emphasis on theory and practice in television production including, planning, writing, producing, staging, and directing interviews, commercials, public service announcements, dramatic pieces, multimedia, and other program segments. Special emphasis will be placed on non-linear video editing techniques. (CSU)

This course is designed to provide instruction and practice in announcing, interpretation of copy, news casting, music continuity, the operation of audio equipment, and interviewing. Students gain practice with commercial material and ad lib announcing. (CSU)

This semester, the RTV Club will help wrap up the production of the RTV full-length movie - "Broadcasting Sunshine."  Also, the group will meet with the purpose of assisting on each others audio, video, and assorted multimedia projects.  Occasionally, media industry guest speakers will meet with the group and specially selected movies and audio productions will be presented for critical review.
